Wanna Try Ball Stretching? A How-To Guide with Oxballs
Recently we had Kim, join us from Oxballs. During her presentation, she discussed ball stretching. If you haven’t heard of ball stretching, don’t worry you are in good company! Full disclosure, as someone who does not have testicles nor sleeps with people who have testicles, I didn’t know anything about this practice, but nevertheless, I was curious. So Kim fill me in, here’s what I learned.
What is ball stretching?
Ball stretching is a practice that has gained popularity among people with testicles seeking to explore new sensations, though it can also be used to enhance aesthetics or dull discomfort. Ball stretching involves wearing silicone rings around the testicles to prevent the balls from retracting during orgasm, which intensifies the sensation. Long-term, ball stretching using weights can gradually elongate the scrotum, a look that some people find appealing.
How to try ball stretching
Warm Up (literally)– As you may know, heat can help loosen tissue and make the process more comfortable. Consider a warm shower to relax the scrotal tissues before you begin.
Manual Stretching – Like any new toy, it’s always best to warm up with your hands, so you don’t introduce too much sensation at once. Try gently pulling and holding your testicles for a few seconds to prepare.
Pick a Beginner Stretcher – Oxballs, admittedly isn’t for the faint of heart. While their products cater to the fetish community, don’t be discouraged, they also have larger rings that are good for beginners.
Gradually Lengthen Sessions – Keep sessions short initially as you get used to the sensation. You can increase time as your body acclimates. As you’ll see, there are a lot of fun modifications to explore once you’re past the beginner stage.
Finish With a Moisturizer – Consider using a gentle lotion or oil after you’ve worn rings to keep the skin supple.
Safety Tips
Like all kink practices, ball stretching carries risk. Kim offered this easy acronym to help you remember the key takeaway “LL - larger for longer” meaning rings with larger openings can be worn for longer durations, and “SS - smaller for shorter,” you get the picture. Beyond this helpful reminder, here’s a few extra things to keep in mind:
Start Slow - One of the most common reasons people get injured using sex toys is that they ignore their limits. While you may aspire to wear a stack of 20 rings around your balls, you won’t be able to do that the first time… the second… or the third time. Like any riskier sex practice, you must go slow and steady.
Listen to Your Body - There’s good pain, and then there’s pain that’s a warning sign. You need to know the difference. Mild tension is normal. Most people enjoy the painful pleasure that comes from orgasm while stretching, but numbness or discoloration means something isn’t right. Additionally, stop immediately if you feel sharp discomfort.
Use the Right Toys - While Oxball has a plethora of options, not every single ball stretcher is right for you. As we mentioned, smaller rings can only be worn for shorter periods, while larger ones can be used longer. Think about your intended use when picking a ball stretcher to avoid injury.
Monitor Circulation - Last, but most importantly, ensure that you’re monitoring your circulation. Cock and ball rings are designed to restrict the flow of blood to your genitals to provide the desired effect, but you shouldn’t pick a ring that cuts off circulation entirely. Again, if you feel pinching or see discoloration take it off immediately. Additionally, remember that everyone’s body is different but you can’t wear rings 24/7 no matter who you are.
Product Recommendations
If you’re a beginner, we suggest starting with a larger ring like the Core Ballstretcher or the Ping-Ring Cockring. Kim helpfully let us know that these Oxball products were designed to be used as either ball stretchers, cock rings, bumpers, or all three at once! This brings us to the three packs, while many people have asked Kim if some of the products come in three packs because they are single-use, she reassured us that wasn’t the case. The Willy Rings and Ringer Max can be used simultaneously. As you become accustomed to ball stretching, you can wear numerous rings at once (up to 20, according to Kim!)
As you become a more experienced ball stretcher, new possibilities open up. As we discussed, you can stack more rings vertically, but you can also layer them one on top of the other, adding extra pressure. Consider wearing the Willy on top of the Ping-Ring.
If you’re interested in added sensations, Kim mentioned that the Airhole Vented Cockring could be used during electro play, inserting the metal rods into the small holes in the ball stretcher.
Lastly, it might interest you to know that many other Oxball products are designed to be used in tandem with ball stretching. For example, you can add a ring when wearing the Butch Penis Extender Sheath, or the Invader Penis Sheath if you’re interested in some added texture.
Are You Ready To Try?
I’m guessing a few of you, like myself, had never heard of ball stretching. While I don’t think I’ll have the occasion to try this out, I am delighted that Kim took the time to fill me in. I encourage you to explore, if you’re able, you won’t know if you like it until you try it! Ball stretching can be a rewarding practice when done safely and patiently. If you’re curious, start slow, use quality toys, like those from Oxballs, and pay attention to how your body responds.
